Overview

Examinations: 
Appraisal (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicant's training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any combination of the following: Investigation, oral exam and rating of the application.
Should an oral examination be necessary, the oral examination will be weighted at 100%. 

Applicants must attain at least 70% score on each phase of the examination process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree AND six (6) years military or civil aviation experience OR six (6) years experience as a peace officer; a combination of military or civil aviation experience and experience as a peace officer totaling six (6) years is qualifying.  

Candidate must possess a current valid certification(s) in P.C. 832 Arrests & Firearms at the time of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain a current and valid registration may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Preferred Qualifications:

FAA Private or Commercial Pilot's license. 

Accreditation or certification from American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) or Southwest Chapter of American Association of Airport Executives (SWAAAE)
