Airport Maintenance Worker

* for the

Chino Airport

who will perform building maintenance labor following established practices and procedures. Typical duties include assisting skilled technicians in the maintenance of County buildings in the areas of preventative maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, including hardware, lighting, flooring, walls, and entryways. Works independently or as part of a team performing tasks such as mowing, cutting, and removing weeds. Additional duties include delivery and pick-up of supplies, clean-up, light office duties, moving furniture and other objects, and using a variety of hand tools and equipment. 


The resulting eligible list will be used to fill current and future vacancies in Chino. If you are not interested in employment in Chino, you should not apply at this time. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The County of San Bernardino Department of Airports provides for the management, maintenance, and operation of six county-owned airports. Airports included are Apple Valley, Baker, Barstow-Daggett, Chino, Needles, and Twentynine Palms. The Department of Airports plans and directs the County’s airport and aviation system, as well as the interpretation and implementation of Federal Aviation Administration requirements.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTPhysical:

Must be able to reach, lift, and move heavy objects either manually or with the aid of lifting devices. Incumbents must also be able to work in outdoor areas, climb ladders, and work on roofs.



License:

A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.


Pre-Employment Process:

Applicants must successfully pass a background check, which includes fingerprints and medical examination prior to appointment.


Location: Applicants must be available to work in Chino.



Minimum Requirements
Experience:

One (1) year of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings using hand and power tools.
