The Department of Behavioral Health has excellent career opportunities available for talented mental health professionals interested in the position of Clinical Supervisor - Urgent Care Wellness Center. The ideal candidate should be flexible, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and solution-oriented.

The Clinical Supervisor - Urgent Care Wellness Center is responsible for overseeing the clinical and administrative functions at the Urgent Care Wellness Center (UCWC). The UCWC is the first step to wellness and recovery for Fresno County Residents and is the beginning of a process to access services or to resume services. We see same day Walk-ins and some clients that are in crisis. Our goals are to offer same day services, which could include triaging, assessments, treatment planning and linkage to other appropriate services within the county and to our local providers. UCWC provides some short-term treatment for up to 3 months in a brief/solution focused framework that can include case management, individual, and group therapy. This position offers a great opportunity to lead a team of dedicated staff providing compassionate services to our community.

The Clinical Supervisor has administrative and clinical supervisory responsibilities over clinical and support staff including interviewing, selecting, training, assigning, directing, monitoring, and evaluating staff.  In addition, incumbents may provide clinical direction and supervision to subordinate staff, which may include unlicensed clinicians, and/or student interns. The Clinical Supervisor also provides direct clinical services.

Note: The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions. Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.

Positions in this classification are in Medical Group I - Light Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require only light physical effort and may include lifting of small, light objects and some bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching. Considerable walking or standing may be involved.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in biology, psychology, nursing, public health, social work, or a closely related field that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system.

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time, paid post-licensure work experience providing direct behavioral health care services as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Psychologist or Registered Nurse. Prior experience related to the Urgent Care Wellness Center is preferred, but not required.

License: Valid State of California license as a Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor, or Registered Nurse.

Possession of a valid Class “C” driver's license, or equivalent.

Incumbents must provide evidence of completing continuing education units required by the Board of Behavioral Sciences to provide clinical supervision to unlicensed registered Associates.

Incumbents must pass initial credentialing and re-credentialing requirements and maintain compliance at all times with state licensing credentialing requirements while occupying this classification. 

All providers in this classification are required to have a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number prior to their first day of employment and maintain a valid NPI throughout the duration of their tenure in this classification. In addition, all providers in this classification must be registered with the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) under the correct taxonomy.
