General Purpose of the Job 

The Director of Clinical Practice Group is responsible for planning, direct, and administer DocGo Clinical Practice Group (DCPG) operations in accordance with policies and strategic direction as established by DCPG the CEO of the practice group and DocGo Executive Leadership. Develop and implement strategic short- and long-term plans. Ensures efficiency in operations of DCPG including all aspects of operational efficiency. Works collaboratively to ensure the highest quality of care and efficient financial performance. This position reports to the CEO of the Clinical Practice Group. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Organizes and directs the operations of the Clinical Practice Group in partnership with DCPG CEO and DocGo’s Executive Team  

  • Directs and implements short term and long-term operational plans based upon organizational goals and objectives through the analysis of available resources, capabilities and financial constraints.  

  • Lead the Clinical Practice Group operations management team in partnership with the CEO and review all direct reports’ performance to establish metrics for the Clinical Practice Group on a regular basis. 

  • Ensure information regarding DCPG operations, plans, improvement initiatives, policies and procedures to all applicable staff.  

  • Guide and direct the development of new services or locations and efficient methods of operations for current services, and monitor performance of such to established metrics trusted in the health care sector.  

  • Directs various personnel functions including, but not limited to: staff development, performance counseling, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules.  

  • In partnership with the leadership team, maintains the fiscal health of DCPG. Monitors, verifies and reconciles expenditure of budgeted funds; prepares reports reflecting status of programs and activities. 

  • Works closely with DocGo’s Finance Department to accurately capture revenue.  

  • Partners with Finance and other leaders to compile and prepare operational and financial reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.  

  • Proactively identifies and analyzes process improvement opportunities to optimize efficiency, effectiveness and standardization of work for DCPG.  

  • Organize team activities to develop new workflows and create and implement policies and procedures to ensure adherence to standard work and new workflows.  

  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, City and any other regulatory/legal Requirements; educates staff and ensures their compliance with DCPG practices; implements new policies and keeps employees abreast of current changes and standards.  

  • Works with the Leadership Team to develop and implement quality assurance programs and standards for DCPG and monitors compliance with internal policies and metrics as outlined in the PC Quality Assurance program and Standard Operating Procedures.  

  • Ensures the timely completion of tasks including but not limited to filings, employee health, insurance documents, credentialling of providers and entities, payroll, budget, licensing, onboarding, and Athena profiles,  

  • Promptly identifies issues and organizes teams to resolve and/or escalates appropriately. 

  • Actively participates in and contributes to strategic planning initiatives with CEO of Clinical Practice Group and the leadership team. 

  • Serves as an example to others by providing excellent service to internal and external customers.  

  • Proactively seeks out development and learning opportunities (e.g., conferences) to bring back learning to DocGo. 

  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position is responsible for overall leadership of DCPG operations including but not limited to Project Service Specialists, Lab Director, Pharmacy Manager, Medical Director, NP/PA Leaders, Directors, Interns and Temporary staff. 

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Master's degree in health administration, Public Health or Business Administration required 

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in heath related facility 

  • Previously responsible for the operational, fiscal, administrative and strategic direction of a health care operation for at least five years. 

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations 

  • Experience leading teams and developing staff 

  • Experience leading process improvement efforts 

  • Experience working with diverse groups and operating effectively in complex environments 

Necessary Skills & Abilities: 

Analytical Skills 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policies/procedures. Ability to effectively present information. 

Critical Thinking & Decision Making 

Ability to solve practical problems and make sound and prompt decisions considering a variety of variables in situations where existing data may be limited. Ability to accurately size up a situation and navigate a course forward. 

Situational Awareness 

Awareness and appreciation of rapidly changing conditions and responding with appropriate sense of urgency and course of action. Must be flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities. 

Computer Skills 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word), an evolving knowledge of WorkDay, Slack and AthenaHealth.

Travel 

This job may require periodic travel to partner organizations directly employed by the practice group or affiliated with the practice group. All travel will be reimbursed as per DocGo’ HR policy.
