Overview

The FAA, Financial Accounting reports to the CRE Controls Manager, and is responsible for supporting Corporate Real Estate (CRE) for the global enterprise. The position is responsible for providing accounting support for various projects including maintaining budgets, facilitating contract, PO and change order creation, processing invoices, building cost reports and closing out projects. Additionally, responsible for reporting monthly budget variances, spend-to-date, and other metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day CRE Controls function, including managing the financial and budgetary responsibilities for projects assigned by the CRE Controls Manager

  • Brainstorm and present innovative ideas and solutions to reduce redundancies, increase efficiencies, and increase positive productivity periodically to the CRE Controls Manager

  • Collaborate with peers to successfully implement and complete projects in conjunction with D&D department, identifying trends and areas for alignment and improvement

  • Prepare and review all contract and change order requests, ensuring vendor compliance with executed contract agreement and TWDC corporate/department policies

  • Review and circulate for approval all invoices for assigned projects, including validation of required vendor backup documentation

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and analyses, creating executive-level presentations as needed by the business and as assigned by the CRE Controls Manager or Director

  • Ad hoc reporting, special projects, committee participation and other duties assigned by the CRE Controls Manager

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years relevant accounting experience; minimum 1 year accounting experience

  • Must possess strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen

  • Demonstrated understanding of internal controls, control environments, and accounting systems (MS office, SAP preferred)

  • Strong relationship building skills and a highly professional “client service orientation”

  • Must be able to interact with and influence all levels of management within and outside Controllership

  • Must be an excellent team player who possesses solid interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Excellent communicator in both oral and written settings

  • Flexible, “special-projects” orientation coupled with solid multi-tasking abilities

  • High energy level; strong work ethic

  • Self-driven, independent thinker

  • Results-oriented

  • Ability to identify process improvements and desire to implement best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience in real estate or construction industry

  • CPA, CPA candidate, CMA, CCIFP

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

Preferred Education:

  • MBA
