Citi’s Global Booking program is aimed at establishing a best-in-class framework, governance, and implementation of booking practices, across Citi’s businesses, products, and legal entities.  Successful implementation, governance, and monitoring of the Booking program are critical to Citi’s regulatory and transformation commitments.  The Global Booking Teamwithin the Controls Management Group and Global Controllers organization, is responsible for designing, driving implementation, measurement and reporting of firmwide policies, procedures, guidelines / requirements that are integral to Citi’s Booking processes.  

Controllers Strategic Control Initiatives function has responsibilities for providing subject matter expertise (relating to internal controls over financial and regulatory reporting) to support the design and implementation of key control requirements as part of Citi’s continuous improvement efforts to establish and maintain a best-in-class control environment.  The team is also responsible for the design and driving implementation of the end-to-end control framework related to Citi’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) processes, including ongoing monitoring, assessment and reporting processes

The role involves extensive partnership with senior management and colleagues across Citi’s Institutional Clients Group (ICG) & Personal Banking & Wealth Management (PBWM) businesses, Enterprise Operations & Technology (EO&T), Finance, Chief Administrative Office (CAO), Global Public Affairs (GPA), Risk Management, and Internal Audit.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish a best-in class governance and oversight framework for Citi’s Global Booking program
  • Manage programs for identification, implementation, monitoring, assessment and reporting of Booking controls.  Ensure booking controls meet Citi’s consent order commitments
  • Drive transformation of Citi’s Booking Model and Booking Control Policies, procedures and related documentation requirements (including booking practice documentation)
  • Support global new product review and approval for booking requirements
  • Establish and continuously improve global booking analytics and reporting frameworks for senior management reporting (Material Legal Entities CEOs, CFOs, etc.) and firmwide committees such as the Legal Entity Steering Committee, Firmwide Control Standards and Governance Oversight Council, etc.
  • Lead all Internal Audit engagements for booking
  • Active participation in all cross-functional working and oversight groups to provide inputs into all transformation efforts focused on creation of new internal control frameworks, policies and standards
  • Provide detailed user requirements, perform user acceptance testing and approvals related to GRC tool enhancements (e.g., MCA, iCAPs) planned as part of the transformation efforts
  • Active engagement with the ESG Working and Steering Groups, Financial Reporting and business teams in driving identification, documentation and/or implementation of controls related to end-to-end processes supporting ESG disclosures
  • Engagement and support to other firmwide strategic control enhancement initiatives, system implementations (e.g., strategic ledger)

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in governance, risk and controls, specifically internal controls over financial and regulatory reporting
  • Relevant experience in the Financial Services / Banking industry is required
  • Experience with leading, managing and/ or participating in large scale, global transformation / system implementation projects / programs with engagement of cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively, especially with senior audiences
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, highly matrix, dynamic environment
  • Experience in leading large high performing teams
  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching, developing, attracting, and retaining talent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Citi’s products, architecture, and legal entities is helpful but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is a plus


*Hybrid schedule: 2-3 days in office and the remainder remote (specific details depend on location & business group). This is not a "remote only" role.
