Hennepin County's IT department is seeking for a Senior IT Vulnerability Administrator to join their IT Vulnerability Management team.

Location and hours:
This position is remote. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Remote employees may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Based on the business needs for this position, individuals must reside in Minnesota or have approval to work from a state authorized by Hennepin County as approved for out-of-state remote work. For a complete listing of allowable states, click . Candidates must currently reside in or be willing and able to relocate to Minnesota or one of the approved states. Employees living out of state are responsible for all travel expenses when required to come on-site. Individuals who do not reside in or are not willing to relocate to one of these states will not be considered.

New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive$500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

At this time, employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $2,383.98 that can be earned annually based on performance.
In this position, you will:
  • Work as a senior team member to run, develop, and mature the enterprise vulnerability management program.
  • Conduct organization-wide vulnerability scanning and track remediation processes across multiple lines of business.
  • Create metrics and key performance indicators (KPI) that measure the effectiveness of a vulnerability program.
  • Administer vulnerability management solutions such as Qualys, Rapid 7 Insightvm, Nessus, Kenna Security, Crowdstrike and open source.
  • Assure device configurations meet organizationally defined security standards.
  • Manage vendor pentests.
Need to have:
  • One of the following:
    • Seven years or more of information technology experience.
    • Associate's/vocational/technical degree in an information technology field and five years or more of information technology experience.
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science/engineering, or a related information technology field and three years or more of IT administration or IT database administration experience.
 Nice to have:    
  • Experience:
    • Working with vulnerability management.
    • Leading and maturing an enterprise vulnerability management program.
    • Configuring, Troubleshooting and Administering vulnerability management solutions such as Qualys, Rapid 7 lnsightvm, Nessus, Kenna Security, Crowdstrike, and open source.
    • Creating executive level vulnerability management metrics and key performance indicators (KPI). 
    • With security certification such as Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certification) or other industry recognized certification.
  • Knowledge of one or more cyber security frameworks such as NIST, ISO, or CIS.
  • Effective communication skills.
