The Hennepin County Information Technology (IT) department is seeking an Website Sitecore Administrator intern who will work with the Web Infrastructure Team and provide administration and development on one or more of Hennepin County’s enterprise content management system.  More specifically, the county’s resident facing web platform, Sitecore, which hosts Hennepin.us and other county websites. Our key candidates are motivated, excited about learning, adaptable, reliable and communicative. This position requires a level three security check as a requirement for employment.

Location and hours: 
This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable.  Work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. The intern will work approximately 20 hours/week. This internship will start in January 2024 and will last up to two years in duration.  While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.

In this position, you will: 

  • Code back-end templates, reusable components and UIs for content authors to leverage.
  • Complete various administration and developments tasks.
  • Manage incidents.
  • Manage users and role access. 
  • Participate in patching and upgrades.
  • Maintenance tasks such as cache management, DB cleanup, log management, job scheduling, workflows and queue management.
  • Research ways how to solve issues as they arise.
  • Work with the team to standardize development and administration processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Need to have:
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate (within 6 months) in an IT Certificate program, technical, associate, bachelor's or master's degree program in, computer science, IT or related field.
  • Access to reliable internet connection and self-support remote office space. 

Nice to have: 
  • Experience:
    • With website administration.
    • Providing responding to trouble tickets and providing support to customers.
    • Writing and editing .net code.
    • With Azure and SQL databases.
  • Working knowledge of git and Azure DevOps.
