Payments Network Division is seeking a Manager in Software Engineering ;



The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of software engineers and technical project managers improving software processes and setting the group's strategic direction. The software group is responsible for the design, development, documentation, integration, and test of software products, systems and subsystems on time and within budget. Applicants must also have the ability to complete technical projects independently as well as mentor and/or coach other engineers.




Role



Promote engineering best practices and instill a team culture built on curiosity and collaboration



Manage, mentor, and grow engineers on team, helping them advance their skill sets and careers



Collaborate with product management and other engineering teams to build and deploy iterative solutions



Help team maintain focus on current priorities and commitments while promoting core values of Agile software development



Collaborate with other engineering managers and leaders to drive department-wide objectives




All About you:



Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of Engineering work experience



5+ years of software development and design experience



1+ years of experience acting as a technical lead (mentoring and leading other engineers)



Broad knowledge of programming languages with an emphasis on Java



Application of agile methodologies to iteratively improve the customer experience and optimize engineering productivity



Manages operational aspect of production and development servers including developing, training in, and validating compliance with procedures and checklists related to disk space usage, monitoring solutions, deployment, conventions, access to the production and development sources, source control access and usage, performance monitoring, code modifications validation, scheduling, and more



Evaluates technological choices (network/hardware related and technology/code related) by querying providers and providing evaluations of each solution include ROI evaluations in the present and future implications, limitations, and opportunities



Manages analysis and approval of new code through security and performance gates that you will design and develop for feature-complete software. Be an advocate for security and performance standards in the organization



Identifies trending gaps or issues in day-to-day performance platform or applications by active monitoring, alert management, reporting, and process reviews



Maintains issue tracking and documentation systems and provides reporting that ensures proper tracking and visibility of issues and projects
