This recruitment is for a position that will work in the East Kern Region locations include Ridgecrest, Lake Isabella, and Mojave. Candidates must indicate their willingness to work in Ridgecrest, Lake Isabella, and Mojave or their application will be rejected. Candidates MUST be willing to travel to these locations. 

Initial application screening will result in a Written examination.  Subsequent testing dates to be posted as applicable. 

Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards: 
High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent and three years of clerical, general computer and office experience directly related to the area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Certification of Typing/Keyboarding speed of 50 net words per minute.

Written Exam (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of statistical methods; data compilation methods; inventory maintenance principles; customer service principles; standard office procedures, methods, and equipment; transcription methods; basic filing and record keeping principles; basic mathematical concepts; English language, grammar, and punctuation.

Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on the examination.  

This position works in various departments throughout Kern County.
