What you do and how you do it:
As a budget analyst, you’re naturally curious about what’s happening around you and willing to dig into the reports, ask questions and seek out answers. You will be a key resource to support the greater finance team and county leadership. Serving in this dynamic role, you will work collaboratively with team members to provide critical financial and management support, with a focus on:

  • Strong understanding of governmental accounting methods and reporting
  • Technical expertise regarding reconciling budgetary and accounting reports
  • Working closely with departments to develop and analyze upcoming financial needs
  • Collaborating with core financial departments and assist in managing financial systems
  • Manage a rotating portfolio of department budgets across diverse business areas
  • Interesting and community relevant side projects involving economic/demographic data
  • Perform other work as required
Here’s What You Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or a related field; four years of responsible experience in a complex budgeting and/or fiscal management of a large department/organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The successful candidate will share a passion for local government, possess strong analytical, accounting, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and organization; knowledge of budget management; excel at independent problem solving; possess strong interpersonal skills, and work well with a dynamic team and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
