Overview

Position Overview:

Harris County Central Technology Services is seeking an experienced Enterprise Content and Records Management (ECRM) System Administrator Applications Developer. This is a new position that is responsible for assisting with the initial deployment of OpenText Content Suite application/workflow development, application/workflow support and for assisting with the on-going configuration, maintenance, and support of Harris County’s OpenText Content Management system.

This position requires a combination of technical, business analysis, and user support skills. The ideal candidate has 3-4 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise-wide content management systems in very large, geographically distributed environments. Also, the ideal candidate must also have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable working with technical and non-technical team members, customers, and management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate on the OpenText Content Server implementation team; complete OpenText Administration tasks as assigned

  • Day-to-day monitoring and support of OpenText environments (PROD, QA, and DEV) in a distributed Windows environment

  • Monitor system performance and capacity; take corrective or proactive measures as needed to ensure optimal performance of the system

  • Provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade of business solutions per vendor specification

  • Provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade of 3rd party integration products related to OpenText.

  • Work with Enterprise Managed Services team (server, database, network, and security) as necessary to maintain a stable environment that provides High Availability and Fail Over.

  • Work with technical personnel in remote data centers and provide them with technical guidance and assistance on installation and maintenance of OpenText.

  • Maintain disaster recovery procedures and participate in disaster recovery testing

  • Administer user groups, permissions, and security within the OpenText environment

  • Assist with authoring and management of Content Management System-related documentation for Harris County.

Requirements

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field is required. Equivalent professional work experience in a related field will substitute for required degree on a year for year basis. 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience working in the IT domain for a large corporate or public sector entity

  • 3-4 years hands on experience administering OpenText Content Server version 16.x, or 22.x

  • Strong knowledge of OpenText Content Server capabilities, including:

  • Content Server Fundamentals

  • Custom Views

  • Web Forms

  • Appearances

  • Live Reports

  • CIS Modeling

  • Taxonomy

  • Categories and Attributes

  • Users, Groups, and Security

  • Workflow

  • Web Reports

  • Enterprise Scan

  • OpenText Capture Center 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and listening) skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

  • Ability to work well both as a member of a team and independently
