We are looking for a Software Development Manager to join an exciting new project team working to build a completely new, best in class product. Our team is fast paced, highly collaborative and is organized like a startup. As a Software Development Manager, you will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products for customers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key job responsibilities

- Manage and grow a team of software engineers, including their projects, performance, and career growth

- Clearly communicate project roadmaps with your team, management, and principal stakeholders

- Work with peer managers across teams to determine scope and estimate development effort

- Following best practices in modern software engineering: application design, implementation, testing, version control, documentation, deployment, monitoring and operations

- Translate requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture.

- Work with product and design teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud

- Generate documentation to support regulatory requirements

- Hire and develop the best

- Drive team discussions on system architecture and component design.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Milpitas, CA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience

- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

- 3+ years of experience building mobile and web apps.

- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

- Hands-on expertise in wide-range of front end and mobile technologies.

- Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

- Experience working in a regulated environment with design controls.

- Knowledge of Application Security principles and how they impact development and deployment of applications.

- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
